In their Twitter post, Nintendo mentioned that they’ll be at PAX East 2019 from March 28th to March 31st. Video games and tournaments aside, the Nintendo of America Twitter account also announced that the Nintendo PAX East 2019 booth will have an assortment of activities set-up for fans to participate in.

According to MyNintendoNews.com, the events, games, and activities will be headlined by the “Splatoon 2 North America Inkling Open 2019 and the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate North America Open 2019 [tournaments].”

Speaking of those tournaments, MyNintendoNews.com reports that “the final events for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate North America Open 2019 and Splatoon 2 North America Inkling Open 2019 both take place on March 30 at the PAX Arena.” If you’re going to PAX East and have the ‘Saturday badge,’ MyNintendoNews.com reports that you’ll be able to witness these tournaments take place “on a first-come, first-served basis.”

MyNintendoNews.com wrote that Nintendo has been streaming both tournaments online for quite awhile now because they’ve been building up the tournament finals for each competition–that’ll take place at PAX East in a few weeks. For those who can’t make it to PAX East this year, fear not, as MyNintendoNews.com reports that these “tournaments will also be streamed at https://events.nintendo.com/,” which means you’ll be able to watch them from the comfort of your own home.

The website also quoted a comment made by Nintendo of America’s future president, Doug Bowser, who stated the following:

“PAX East will be really exciting this year. Not only will we have new games for fans to try, but it will also be the culmination of our Nintendo Switch tournaments across North America,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “From the thousands of competitors who began the journey, our finalists rose to the top and are ready to put the skills to the test for everyone in person and watching online.”

According to MyNintendoNews.com, some of the activities Nintendo has planned for their fans and other PAX East attendees are “a memorable photo opportunity inspired by Yoshi’s Crafted World and mini-challenge competitions in the Yoshi’s Crafted World and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate games.”

Similar to other events Nintendo often has, participants can receive “fun branded prizes.” However, Nintendo may run out of prizes due to amount of people who may jump on-board with the activities their holding. Here’s a list of the Nintendo Switch titles that’ll appear at the following booths–according to MyNintendoNews.com.

“Booth 18055:”

  • “Yoshi’s Crafted World[.]”
  • “DRAGON QUEST BUILDERS 2 from SQUARE ENIX[.]”
  • “A selection of anticipated indie games[.]”

“Booth 2006:”

Lastly, the PAX East 2019 event itself will begin on March 28th and will conclude on March 31st at “the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center at 415 Summer St., Boston, MA 02210.” Both tournaments will occur on March 30th “in the convention center’s Pax Arena.” If you want more concrete information regarding the PAX East 2019 event, then you should check out the http://east.paxsite.com website.

It looks like Nintendo’s trying their best to make sure their upcoming titles are in the minds of current and future Nintendo Switch owners based on the information reported above. We’ll be sure to cover any new game announcements or reveals during PAX East 2019 if Nintendo or another company decides to lift up the gaming cloak on us all.

Nintendo News Round-Up: E3 2018 Plans & Nintendo Switch Online Information Incoming?

With the financial briefing all wrapped up in a bow; it was only a matter of time until Nintendo released their final smash. By final smash, I mean their E3 2018 plans!

Nintendo News

According to Nintendo of America’s Twitter account, their E3 starts on June 11th with the “Splatoon 2 World Championship” tournament that will air from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. PT. or 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET for those of you in the eastern time zone. The tournament finals will occur on June 12th. After the “Splatoon 2 World Championship” tournament finals conclude, the “Super Smash Bros. Invitational 2018” tournament will occur.

Then Nintendo will host a video presentation said to “look at Nintendo Switch titles for 2018,” with a clear focus on Super Smash Bros. This starts at 9:00 a.m. P.T. or 12:00 p.m. ET. My best guess is that it will share a similar format to their Nintendo Spotlight event from last year, but we’ll have to wait and see on that one.

Next up on Nintendo’s list is the “Nintendo Treehouse Live” segment where they plan to showcase “Three days” worth of Nintendo Switch game-play featuring developers and members from the Treehouse. It seems Super Smash Bros will kick-off the Treehouse Live segment right when the video presentation ends. That’s both exciting and mysterious. We’re probably going to get a character reveal.

NSwitch_NintendoSwitchOnline

It seems we’ll also be getting news about the Nintendo Switch Online Service in early May–according to Wall Street Journal reporter Takashi Mochisuki.

I’ll say this once, and I’ll say it many times over. It’s great to be an Nintendo Switch owner right now. With their E3 2018 plans officially announced, and their Nintendo Switch Online Service on the horizon, Nintendo seems like their gunning toward victory with this year’s E3. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us in June!
