Shantae 5 Announced For Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Apple Arcade & Will Release Later This Year!

Today, the Wayforward Twitter account revealed that a brand new Shantae game with the placeholder title, Shantae 5, will be releasing on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Apple Arcade–later this year. According to the Wayforward Twitter account this game will be “a brand-new adventure” for the beloved genie.

Wayforward’s Twitter account was also courteous to post an image featuring a new render for the genie herself with her hair curling up into the number 5. We’ve used the image as the thumbnail, but you can look at their original image by clicking here.

Outside of the recent announcement of Shantae 5, no other information about the title’s plot, game-play, or other features have been publicly shared. I guesstimate that there will be some new mechanics added into Shantae 5, however, the charm from her previous games will remain.

Nonetheless, the Wayforward Twitter account promised fans to “stay tuned for more details.” Since the title’s supposed to be releasing later this year, I’m guessing we’ll be hearing information about Shantae 5 sooner than we think. We’ll be sure to update you all on more information when more news about Shantae 5 is publicly shared.

What do you think about this news? Are you excited that there’s a new Shantae game coming later this year? Let us know on Facebook and Twitter, and follow us for more Shantae 5 news, and everything gaming too.

Two New Nintendo Switch Models May Be Coming Out This Summer, According To The Wall Street Journal!

Today, many video game media websites reported on an article written by The Wall Street Journal stating that “two new versions of its Switch gaming console as early as this Summer.” Though I couldn’t access the full report because of’s subscription service, I’m going to be referencing the points noted by in this piece.

However, if you have a subscription, I highly recommend reading the report on their website to support them. Click here to be taken to that article.

According to’s article, states that there’ll be an improved model and “a pared-down version” that’ll sell for a lesser price compared to the current Nintendo Switch models. The former will have “‘enhanced’ features” and will be targeted toward “‘avid gamers[,]‘” yet it won’t match the specs of the Xbox One X or PS4 Pro, according to’s article.

The other system mentioned in’s article will serve as a cheap alternative to the current Nintendo Switch hardware sold online and via local retailers. Yet these cheap models will be targeted toward a casual audience, essentially what’s claiming “Nintendo sees as a successor to its aging hand-held 3DS device…

E3 2019’s allegedly the place where Nintendo will reveal both models and their plans to “launch them ‘a few months later,'” in time for the holiday season,” according to and notes that one of WSJ’s sources stated, “you would be wrong to think the enhanced version is similar to what Sony did with PS4 Pro and the other is just a cheap alternative that looks very similar to some past hand-held machines, say, Sony’s PlayStation Vita.” This entails that we’re probably in for a unimaginable change with respect to these new Nintendo Switch models.

Apparently, the report also claims that the cheaper Nintendo Switch model will not have controller vibration as a means to “cut costs,” according to The pricing for each system wasn’t discussed in the article either as it seems wasn’t able to attain information or chose not to include that info from their sources.

Switch 2.PNG
Image courtesy of also cites stating that Nintendo’s partnering with Sharp, potentially the “Japanese multinational corporation that designs and manufactures electronic products,” to have them assist Nintendo with the new Switch models’ displays. also cites noting that this company originally “bid to make the displays for the original Switch consoles but lost out.”

Lastly, reports that was where the Nintendo Switch revision rumors sparked as word about a “a new Switch revision in 2019” was a hot topic online for awhile. I stand with concerning these new models allowing Nintendo Switch consumers–old and new–to play Nintendo’s past, current, and future line-up of games.

Since the highly-acclaimed gaming media event, E3, is only two months away, I’m certain we’ll get more rumors, hints, and news concerning these alleged Nintendo Switch consoles before that event begins. For now, we’ll keep our eyes peeled for any follow-ups regarding these rumors before the time comes.

The Nintendo Switch Exclusive Title, Little Friends: Dogs and Cats Receives A May 28th Western Release Date!

Today, the Little Friends: Dogs and Cats Twitter account announced that Little Friends: Dogs and Cats “will release in North America, Europe & Australia on May 28, exclusively on Nintendo Switch!” The Twitter account also responded to their release date announcement tweet with news that “Little Friends: Dogs & Cats will also be playable at PAX East & EGX Rezzed!”

So if you have the time and chance to attend either event, and want to meet your future furry friend, I’d recommend getting to their booth as soon as possible.

I covered the news a couple of weeks ago and discovered that Little Friends: Dogs and Cats released in Japan last year via’s article. I also found out that Sold Out Games, the developers behind Little Friends: Dogs and Cats, had announced plans to release the title in the west this Spring. This was also thanks to’s article covering the news.

At the time, we didn’t receive a solid release date. To check out that article, click here. However, it appears reported that the developer’s behind the title released a new press release that shares more information about the game. Here’s what was mentioned in the new press release, according to

“Developed by Imagineer, Little Friends: Dogs & Cats is the first virtual pet simulator for Nintendo Switch. Choose from a variety of puppies and kittens to pet, feed, walk and play with in an adorable pet sim that’s fun for all ages. Take your Little Friends for walks, compete in the flying disc tournament and play with their favourite toys to develop a long-lasting friendship. Or dress them up in over 600 stylish accessories to make them look their best!”

As I mentioned in my previous article, I’m really pumped for this title. From what was shown in the announcement trailer (footage courtesy of the Sold Out Games YouTube channel), I believe this title will be great for those who want to take a break from their work-life. It may also be a great game-to-play on your spare time as well.

Speaking of play-time, I want to remind you again that individuals who are attending either PAX EAST or EGX Rezzed this year will be given the chance to play the title before it’s released in the west. Yet, since the Nintendo Switch’s region free, I believe you can also purchase the title on the Nintendo JP eShop using a Japanese Nintendo account.

However, my best guess is that the title’s Japanese version does not include other languages. If you’re okay with that, then go ahead and purchase the title on the Japanese Nintendo eShop. To learn how to do that, click here (article courtesy of

We’ll be sure to update you all when or if more Little Friends: Dogs and Cats news is shared via a gaming media website or from the title’s developers.

What do you think about this news? Are you interested in purchasing this game when it releases on May 28th, 2019? Have you played the Japanese version of the game? Let us know on Facebook and Twitter, and follow us for more Little Friends: Dogs and Cats news, and everything gaming too.

A New Nintendo Nindies Showcase Presentation Is Happening This Wednesday!

Today, the Nintendo of America Twitter account announced that on “March 20th at 9 AM PT” they’ll be streaming “a new #Nindies Showcase video presentation featuring (…) 30 minutes of information on indie games coming to [the] #NintendoSwitch!

The Nintendo of America Twitter account also shared a link to their web-page where viewers can check out the event when it airs. Click here to be taken to that website.

Image courtesy of the Nintendo of America YouTube channel.

Even though Nintendo linked to their website, I’m certain fans will be able to watch the presentation on other websites like Twitch or YouTube. In terms of the content, it looks like we’ll be getting lots of information since the showcase will be thirty-minutes-long.

As for what we can expect from the Nintendo Nindies Showcase, I think we’ll see titles like the Untitled Goose Game, A Hat In Time, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and other previously announced titles receive release dates. Your guess is as good as mine when it comes to approximate dates for these titles. Maybe, we’ll even see them announce titles that’ll be available to purchase on the Nintendo eShop–the same day as the presentation.

I also can see Nintendo announce new indie titles for the console that will either intrigue, wow, or make several fans a bit bummed. With the current relationship rumors between Microsoft and Nintendo, I’ve seen many gaming websites report on rumors that games like the highly acclaimed indie title, Cuphead, will be getting a Nintendo Switch port. However, I’m not sure if that’ll be the case.

Regardless with how this presentation turns out, we’ll try our best to cover the variety of indie titles that will get release dates or announcements for the Nintendo Switch platform.

What do you think about this news? What indie title would you love to see be ported over to the Nintendo Switch? Are you hoping for Nintendo to reveal release dates for previously announced indie titles? Let us know on Facebook and Twitter, and follow us for more indie news, and everything gaming too.

Yacht Club Games Teases A New Publishing Title Announcement For PAX East 2019?

Today, reported that there was “an email sent out today” which hinted that an “all-new addition to the Yacht Club Games Publisher catalog” will be at PAX East 2019. However, doesn’t believe that Yacht Club Games’s developing the title directly, as this scenario is “similar to how the company was responsible for distributing Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack on 3DS.”

If this is indeed happening, we should receive more information about this mysterious title at PAX East in a few weeks. even shared the full, emailed-message Yacht Club Games allegedly sent to people or companies who are unknown to us at this time. Here’s the full message cited.

“2019 is shaping up to be a landmark year for the Shovel Knight franchise as Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove will be fully complete. The promises from our 2013 Kickstarter are finally being fulfilled! Playable demos of the latest titles in the series – due out later this year – will be on display at PAX:”

“Shovel Knight: King of Cards”
“Shovel Knight Showdown”

“But… wait… from the shadows… there’s something completely different in store:”

“You’ll definitely want to catch a glimpse and get a hands-on of this all-new addition to the Yacht Club Games Publisher catalog!”

Nothing else regarding the title’s game-play or name has been released to the public yet. However, based on the image above, which was posted by member NotLiquid, who seems to be the  first one who shared the news online, it looks promising.

Once the doors to PAX East 2019 open, Yacht Club Games’s new publishing title announcement will follow. We’ll be sure to update you all if more news about this unknown game is publicly shared.

What do you think about this news? What do you perceive the game will play like based on the gif above? Let us know on Facebook and Twitter, and follow us for more Yacht Club Games news, and everything gaming too.

Borderlands 3 Might Get Revealed At PAX East This Year & It’s Possible Borderlands 2 Will Be Ported To The Nintendo Switch?

Two days ago, Borderlands developer Gearbox Software tweeted an image that has lead many to believe that Borderlands 3 will be announced at PAX East 2019. According to, the image posted by Gearbox Software’s official Twitter account features “a freeway exit sign with a date, March 28, and a location: Boston, MA.”

Since the exit sign is accompanied by the number 3, everyone believes this means Borderlands 3 will be announced at PAX East 2019. You can gaze into Gearbox Software’s teaser image yourself, by clicking here.

Image courtesy of reports that Gearbox Software’s having a PAX theater presentation “on Thursday, March 28, at 2 p.m. ET, where it promises ‘never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises.’” The website also shared some interesting details about the event–concerning Gearbox Software’s wishes and goals for this year’s presentation.

Here’s the presentation’s official description cited by

“This is your opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at Gearbox Software and Gearbox Publishing, along with the latest news and updates from the makers of Borderlands, Battleborn, Brothers in Arms, and more! We will have never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises, so don’t miss out!”

According to, Gearbox Software’s president, Randy Pitchford, stated at PAX East 2019, that the studio wanted to recruit “new talent to help it create ‘the next Borderlands.'” They even cite him, at last year’s PAX West convention, stating, Gearbox Software’s “working on the thing I think most of you guys want us to be working on.'”

Based on Gearbox Software’s track-record with Borderlands, Borderlands 2 was released six years ago for the “PlayStation 3, Windows PC, and Xbox 360.” claims that ever since Borderlands 2 hit store shelves, the developers, its publisher, “and its partners have released a number of add-ons and spinoffs.”

Tickets to this year’s PAX East event should still be available as I report on this news. So, if you want to witness the Borderlands 3 announcement (if it’s actually getting announced), in-person, I’d buy those tickets now.

Besides the excitement surrounding Borderlands 3’s possible announcement at PAX East 2019, earlier today, reported that Borderlands 2 might be ported over to the Nintendo Switch soon.

Apparently, the official Gearbox Software Twitter account tweeted out another image that appears pix-elated. According to, Borderlands fans analyzed the image and figured out that it was a screenshot of the previous Borderlands title, Borderlands 2.

Here’s the mysterious image the official Gearbox Software Twitter account tweeted out alongside the non-pix-elated image posted in’s article.

Since this old gem is currently available on older and newer generation hardware, meaning, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners can purchase the title now, this has led many to speculate that this image is hinting at a Borderlands 2 for Nintendo Switch announcement.

As written in’s article, I too, believe that if this is the case, it would be a great announcement for Nintendo fans–since the series “has never made it to an Nintendo console.” Though an announcement for Borderlands 3 or Borderlands 2 from Gearbox Software at PAX East 2019 remains a mystery, we do know that their “PAX East 2019 panel [will take place] on March 28 at 2 PM ET / 5 PM PT.”

So, if we want to know the truth, we’ll get it on that day or earlier–if leakers get crafty on Twitter or elsewhere. In any case, we’ll be sure to update you all when Gearbox Software’s PAX East 2019 panel concludes.

What do you think about this news? Do you believe we’ll see Borderlands 3 at PAX East 2019? Is there a chance the Borderlands series will make its way to the Nintendo Switch? Let us know on Facebook and Twitter, and follow us for more Borderlands news, and everything gaming too.

The Xbox One Version Of RPG Maker MV Has Been Cancelled!

Today, reported that publisher Kadokawa Games announced on their RPG Maker MV Japanese website that the Xbox One version of the game “has been cancelled due to ‘various circumstances.'” The letter doesn’t go into detail about what these ‘circumstances’ were, but from what I could translate on the website, the publisher apologized to Xbox One fans who were looking forward to the game’s release on that console.

To see the message for yourself, click here.

Image courtesy of the NIS America YouTube channel.

According to, the title was released on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch “as RPG Maker MV Trinity in Japan in November 2018.” They also state that the title’s Xbox One version was supposed “to launch alongside the PlayStation 4 and Switch versions, but was delayed to ‘early 2019.'” confirms that the title “will now only be released for PlayStation 4 and Switch”–sometime this year in North America and Europe. For those who are unfamiliar with RPG Maker MV, here’s a quick run-down about the game via the title’s NISA Europe Store web-page listing.

“About the Software:”

“An epic journey begins… with YOU! Become a master game developer with RPG Maker MV. “An Endless Fountain of Customization – With hundreds of graphical assets and an infinite number of possibilities to create your very own world and story, the sky’s the limit!”

It’s unfortunate that the game will not be coming to the Xbox One. I expect many fans were disappointed when they read this news online today. However, when one door closes another one opens. I guess Xbox One owners will just have to wait until a developer creates a game like RPG Maker MV for the system in the future.

On that note, we’ll make sure to keep you informed about RPG Maker MV’s western releases as more news is shared from Kadokawa Games or NIS America.
