Codemasters signs five-year deal with the WRC

If you’re a fan of the World Rally Championship, chances are you’re pretty stoked at this piece of news regarding WRC videogames. Bigben Interactive’s contract with the aforementioned rally championship ends in 2022, and the folks at the FIA have already got a fantastic new partner waiting at the starting line. Starting in 2023, racing-game legends Codemasters will be infusing the WRC license into the venerable Dirt Rally series. With this license, Codies won’t have to worry about how limited their rally-racing content will be. This also increases the possibility of future Dirt Rally games containing super-special stages (Yes, that is a legitimate part of rally lingo) during the in-game rallies. 2023 may be a while away, but the Dirt series is still a massive set of toys for us racing fans to play with…And that toybox is going to get a lot better in the future.
