Xbox One S All-Digital Edition Coming Soon

Xbox greets the future with disc-less Xbox.

I am a digital Gamer. I have been for a few years, the last physical copy of a game I bought was Final Fantasy XV a few years back and it broke, rendering it unplayable. I know a lot of people love their physical copies, and I can respect that. The future of gaming, however, is digital.

Microsoft took one step toward that future today, revealing the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition. The Xbox does not come with a disc drive. You will not be able to play any disc (Xbox or Blu-ray) on your machine.  Other than that one feature it is like every other Xbox One S on the market (4K video and HDR compatible, you just will have to stream or download.)

The unit will be available May 7, 2019 and come at a price point of $249.99. Included with the Xbox will be three games: Sea of Thieves, Minecraft, and Forza Horizon 3.

If you are a digital gamer like I am, you may be interested in this machine. It is fifty dollars cheaper than the standard One S and the inclusion of three fairly popular games does make for a strong selling point.

How do you feel about digital gaming? Our writers here are fairly divided between digital gamers such as myself and those that love their physical copies. Tell us in the comments which you prefer.
