Today, GamingIntel.com reported that their “exclusive (…) sources have revealed that maps and weapons from MW2 and MW3 will be included in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4’s Multiplayer mode.”
According to GamingIntel.com’s exclusive sources, Infinity Ward wants to incorporate previous weapons and maps from “past Modern Warfare games to their in-development title.”

This decision may have been influenced by fan out-cry over Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s “remastered form[‘s]” campaign lacking a multiplayer component, according to GamingIntel.com. To extinguish the flames heightened over this move, maybe Infinity Ward’s decision to bring back “fan-favorite maps and guns from across the Modern Warefare series into Modern Warfare 4” is the solution to that problem.
Furthermore, GamingIntel.com’s exclusive sources believe that Modern Warfare 4 will develop “on key mechanics” while converting old Modern Warfare maps into a new beautiful, remastered light. On the other hand, GamingIntel.com’s exclusive sources chose not to speak about the maps and weapons that will return–since plans “were still subject to change so far out from the release date.”

On that note, I’d expect the highly acclaimed maps and weaponry to appear in this new Modern Warfare title. Although I haven’t had a shoot-out on the Call of Duty battlefield in ages, GamingIntel.com comments that “it would be nice to finally be able to use familiar weapons such as the ACR or the UMP-45 in a current generation game on remastered maps like Afghan or a faithful recreation of Rust.”
Though some fans may not be satisfied with Infinity Ward’s decision, I believe there will be a group of individuals who’ll accept the news, or maybe they’ll be some who’ll enjoy it. GamingIntel.com stated that “mixing the old with the new worked wonders in Black Ops 4 and will be sure to do so again in Modern Warfare 4.” If that’s the case, than I don’t see any issue with this decision at all.
However, there’s a chance this could turn out fake. So, I’d keep my head up if this exclusive information from GamingIntel.com turns out to be false. We’ll be sure to update you all when more information is shared from GamingIntel.com, their exclusive sources, or from Infinity Ward themselves.
