On February 13th, 2019, the Kinda Funny Games YouTube channel uploaded an episode of their ‘daily show’ video series and invited GameInformer senior editor Imran Khan “to discuss all the latest Activision news, Amy Henning’s vision for the future of gaming, and Nintendo Direct predictions.” However, as reported by NintendoEverything.com, in the video, the discussion shifts briefly into a Kingdom Hearts and cancelled-revival game discussion.

According to NintendoEverything.com, this is what Khan stated in the video–concerning the “dead and buried” game Nintendo plans to revive.
“Let me hint at something, I guess. This is a thing that I’m going to write up at some point as soon as I get some more sources on it. But there’s a game that’s thought to be dead that Nintendo’s reviving, and it’s not one that people would expect. It was very much a title that was dead and buried – very officially cancelled.”
NintendoEverything.com reports that Khan’s confident that the title exists because he’s heard so much about this revival game project. Although we are unsure what the title is, apparently there’s someone that does.

Earlier today, Twitter user @ShawnLong85 retweeted NintendoEverything.com’s article and posted the following tweets.
The Twitter user @ShawnLong85 runs a YouTube channel called “RGT85” that critiques, discusses, and theorizes about the events that occur in the gaming industry. I’d argue, he’s a very credible content creator.
Apparently, @ShawnLong85 just tweeted that he will upload a video discussing what that title could be based on the information he’s heard. That’s not all that Khan shared in this daily show episode. Like many people over the world, Khan believes Kingdom Hearts III getting an Nintendo Switch port is highly unlikely. However, he disagrees when it comes to Kingdom Hearts’s HD re-releases appearing on Nintendo’s latest system. NintendoEverything.com reports that Khan said,
““Last I heard, there was a talk between Nintendo and Square Enix about what they could do with Kingdom Hearts III. It was deemed unfeasible to get Kingdom Hearts III on the Switch.” Although Switch supports Unreal Engine 4, the game is “very demanding” and “not necessarily you can put out without paring it down a lot.”
According to NintendoEverything.com, Khan doesn’t know if the HD remaster Kingdom Hearts titles are in development for the Nintendo Switch, but believes that Nintendo and Square Enix may have settled with the idea behind Kingdom Hearts jumping over to the Nintendo Switch or that the HD remastered Kingdom Hearts titles are being planned for the system besides Kingdom Hearts’s latest entry.
We’ll be sure to keep you posted on any news regarding Kingdom Hearts and the series’ relation with the Nintendo Switch and @ShawnLong85’s discussion about this mysterious revival game Nintendo’s working on.
