Today, Kotaku.com reports that a Titanfall spinoff title might be coming out soon–possibly as early as Monday according to their sources and some internet discussions.
Kotaku.com reports that esports journalist, Rod Breslau leaked the information this morning about this game, though the developer behind the game (Respawn) hasn’t officially announced the game’s existence.

According to Rod Breslau’s Twitter post, he reports that “sources who have played and have knowledge of the game confirm to me that Respawn is set to announce and release Apex Legends on Monday Feb 4, a free to play Titanfall Hero Battle Royale game for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.”
However, Kotaku.com claims that players cannot utilize Titanfall’s iconic mechanical suits, but in return, will “have supernatural MOBA-like hero abilities” with the ability to play alone or in a three-person-team when taking on other players. In spite of this, Kotaku.com news editor, Jason Schreier, heard news about Apex Legends “early last month” from a tipster who told him that “it plays like Titanfall mixed with Overwatch and Blackout from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.” Schreier also reports that the reason behind this news leaking online may have stemmed from EA’s decision to hold “an event for streamers and YouTubers this week to show off the game.”
Schreier wasn’t done dropping news as he goes on to claim that a Respawn source told him “that Titanfall 3 was well into development and that the studio had been looking to release it by the end of 2018.” He received this news when EA purchased Titanfall developer Respawn in 2017’s Fall season and was told from his Respawn source that Titanfall 3 was suffering from dated technological issues–which made the developers’ worry about the game’s appearance and controls.

Furthermore, Schreier feels the studio may have swapped “engines for Titanfall 3,” and is releasing this unannounced Apex Legends title to satisfy their need to delay Titanfall 3’s eventual release for more development time. On the other hand, he thinks Apex Legends could be the accumulation of the development “done for Titanfall 3” and that a proper sequel for the game may not happen for a long time.
In conclusion, Schreier guesstimates that the game could be revealed at the Super Bowl or on Monday as a you-didn’t-see-this-coming announcement. If this game’s existence is legitimate, than this will be another game fans could look forward to from Respawn– as Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is their only title that’s stated to release later this year. Regardless, if this game’s real or fake, we’ll find out either in tomorrow’s huge sporting event or on Monday.
We’ll be sure to update you all when mores news about this alleged title is publicly shared.
