The Assassin’s Creed franchise might be coming to the Nintendo Switch soon. Gamespot.com reports, “according to retailer listings, a new collection of Assassin’s Creed titles is coming to Switch in just a couple of weeks.”
GameInformer.com reports that “the Nintendo Switch subreddit” discovered that various Czech retailers created a web-page that lists “Assassin’s Creed III + Liberation Remastered bundle is coming on Nintendo Switch” with a February 15th release date. The reddit user, Nightmare666xd states that the game’s physical version or price will be around 35$/35€.
On that note, GameInformer.com reports that this discovery coincides with listings made by Germany’s MediaMarkt store chain concerning “an ‘Assassin’s Creed Compilation'” appearing on Nintendo Switch later down the line. GameInformer.com also states that both titles are being remastered for PS4, Xbox One, and PC and will be a “part of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s season pass”–while the ability to buy them separately will be an option.
They report Assassin’s Creed III’s design aesthetics are being worked on–as Ubisoft remains silent about the details and how they’re specifically refining the game. Given that Assassin’s Creed III’s an old title, it makes sense for Ubisoft to release the title’s enhanced variant on the Nintendo Switch.
Ubisoft’s remained silent about the whole leak situation. According to Gamespot.com, the only Assassin’s Creed title on Nintendo Switch is Assassin’s Creed Odyssey which is “a Japan-exclusive cloud-streaming game.” Like Ubisoft, Nintendo hasn’t announced any plans to bring the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey cloud-streaming variant or any other Assassin’s Creed games to the Nintendo Switch for western consumers yet.
The last official Assassin’s Creed game on an Nintendo platform was Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag for Nintendo’s Wii U system, said Gamespot.com. Assassin’s Creed III was also released on the same system, some-time before. Gamespot.com reports, “the other apparent Switch title, Liberation,” was a 2012 PlayStation Vita exclusive title, before it appeared on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
However, with every leak, legitimate or unbelievable, we must take it all with a pinch of salt. If anything, we can see these titles get announced for the Nintendo Switch during a future Nintendo Direct. We’ll keep you updated when more news about these mysterious titles are shared online.
