Bandai Namco Teases A New Character For Dragon Ball FighterZ & Announce A Dragon Ball Z Action RPG Game Project’s In The Works!

Today, Bandai Namco’s North American Twitter account retweeted @V_Jump’s Twitter post and states that a new challenger will soon join the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster and a new Dragon Ball Z Action RPG game that focuses “on the World of Dragon Ball Z” is in development.

According to Gamespot.com, the announcement was made “ahead of the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals” that’s scheduled to air soon. Though Bandai Namco don’t give a name for the character coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ, they state, “the Warrior from Universe 11 is joining the fight!”

Many speculate that the “warrior” in question, is Dragon Ball Super’s Jiren, who airs from the heroic group called the Pride Troopers who reside in universe eleven. Jiren’s known for being one of the most strongest warriors from said-universe and for his battle with Goku during Dragon Ball Super’s Tournament of Power arc. The Bandai Namco Twitter account states that more information will “be revealed at the DRAGON BALL FighterZ World Tour Finals on January 26th ~ 27th!”

Yet, Bandai Namco wasn’t finished as in the same tweet they announce that “in 2019, the project of a New Game focusing on the World of Dragon Ball Z begins!” Their post features a title image showcasing that it’s a Dragon Ball Z Action RPG game project. The image below was shared from @V_Jump.

Like the teaser given for the unknown character coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ, the Bandai Namco Twitter account states that it will reveal more information about this Action RPG game at the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals. No new information about the title has surfaced online as of yet, sadly.

The news doesn’t stop there as Gamespot.com reports that during the “Dragon Ball Games Super Showcase Stream” that aired on YouTube on January 14th, 2019, the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 producer Masayuki Hirano states, “we said that new information on FighterZ would be coming during the Finals, but we’re also planning to release other big news.”

Gamespot.com claims Hirano could be hinting toward news for other Dragon Ball video game titles than the already announced Action RPG game and FighterZ character. But, this is mere speculation on Gamespot.com’s part. Interestingly, Gamespot.com reports that “during the same stream, Dragon Ball FighterZ producer Tomoko Hiroki hinted that a second season of DLC is on the way for the game.”

News aside, it’s a great time to be a Dragon Ball fan. With these subtle teases online and with the confirmation that more details will be shared during the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals, it’s guaranteed that fans of the Anime, Manga, or games, are in for an exciting 2019. We’ll be sure to update you all when more information about the FighterZ character and the announced Action RPG Dragon Ball Z game are shared.
