Today, the Final Fantasy Twitter account stated that Final Fantasy X, X-2, and XII THE ZODIAC AGE are scheduled to release on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch systems in April.
The Twitter account states that Final Fantasy X and X-2’s HD Remaster is scheduled to release on April 16th, 2019 for both systems while Final Fantasy XII THE ZODIAC AGE is scheduled to release on April 30th, 2019 for both consoles.
The Final Fantasy Twitter account also shared new artwork created by character designer, Akihiko Yoshida to celebrate the news for Final Fantasy XII THE ZODIAC AGE.

These games, alongside other Final Fantasy titles, were initially revealed in Nintendo’s September 13th, 2018 Nintendo Direct. Here’s a list of the Final Fantasy titles they announced during this direct.
New HD Remasters:
- Final Fantasy VII
- Final Fantasy IX
- Final Fantasy X
- Final Fantasy X-2
Standard Titles:
- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition
- Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD
- World of Final Fantasy Maxima
- Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY!
- Final Fantasy XII THE ZODIAC AGE

Though the other titles were announced for the Nintendo Switch, IGN reports that “Microsoft also confirmed that these titles would be arriving on the Xbox One following the news.”
This was announced during the reveal for these titles coming to Nintendo Switch as a blog on Xbox’s website, written by Xbox Wire Editor in Chief, Will Tuttle, shares information about the specific titles that are available now or will come to the Xbox One this year. If you’re a JRPG or a Final Fantasy fan, this news should astound you as the Final Fantasy titles are known for being one’s gateway to the RPG video game genre. As someone who hasn’t played a Final Fantasy title before, I’ll definitely give it a shot when these release in April.
