‘Yoshi’s Crafted World’ Will Release On March 29th for the Nintendo Switch!

Today, the Nintendo of America Twitter account announced that Yoshi’s Crafted World will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch on March 29th, 2019. Nintendo also uploaded a story trailer for Yoshi’s Crafted World on their official Nintendo YouTube channel.

Under the story trailer’s YouTube description section, Nintendo was kind enough to leave a brief overview for fans that explains what Yoshi’s journey will be like this time around. They also share some insight on the new mechanics this game has over Yoshi’s Woolly World. Essentially Nintendo writes,

“it all started when Kamek and Baby Bowser set out to steal a gem-set stone. Legend has it that this fabled artifact can grant the bearer their wildest dreams! But when the artifact’s gems are sent flying, it falls upon Yoshi and friends to find them. Luckily, saving the day can be cooperative and challenging. As Yoshi, you’ll leap up high, gulp down enemies, and set out on a treasure hunt to find all the different collectables. On the flip side, stages can be played backwards, providing new perspectives to explore and new ways to locate some of the more craftily hidden items!”

Furthermore, on Nintendo’s website for the game they share more details about the content in Yoshi’s Crafted World. Nintendo states players can,

“explore each stage and then find even more secrets by making your way through the stage backwards on the flip side! Overcome varied enemies and obstacles, like Zombie Guys, Skelesaurus, Ukiki, and Monty Mole as you seek out hidden collectables. Pass a Joy-Con™ controller to a friend for 2-player cooperative exploration. Clad Yoshi in collectable, protective, handicraft costumes as he makes his way through each stage.”

It’s interesting to see Nintendo announce the release date for the title out of nowhere and not in an official Nintendo Direct. With that in mind, it does make us question if there’ll be an official Nintendo Direct in January after-all. On the other hand, it’s great that fans will finally have a chance to dive into this long-awaited Yoshi game for the Nintendo Switch.

Although this announcement came out of left-field, make sure to keep your attention on Nintendo’s Twitter account because who knows, maybe more reveals will be shared sooner rather than later!
