An Nintendo Direct May Happen This Month, According To A New Rumor!

Over the span of a few weeks, there’s been rumblings about an Nintendo Direct taking place in January. Video game website, GamingIntel.com, who NintendoSoup.com state, “‘correctly predicted the September 2018 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Directs’ has heard from their sources that a new Nintendo Direct is scheduled to air on January 10th, 2019.”

Based on Nintendo‘s track record regarding 2017’s Nintendo Switch Presentation and 2018’s Nintendo Direct Mini that both took place in January, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to predict an Nintendo Direct, of any kind, taking place this month.

GamingIntel.com’s source wishes to remain anonymous and recently shared more information about this mysterious January Nintendo Direct. According to their source,

“I WAS TOLD JANUARY 10TH FROM ONE SOURCE. THIS HASN’T BEEN CROSS CHECKED BETWEEN SOURCES. MOST OF MY OTHER SOURCES ARE STILL UNDECIDED ON AN EXACT DATE, BUT CERTAIN OF A NINTENDO JANUARY DIRECT.”

GamingIntel.com also states that their source has been correct about previous Nintendo Direct dates in the past and they cannot confirm when the direct will take place themselves. Yet, GamingIntel.com reports, “our exclusive source claims that one of his sources is saying it’ll be showcased on the 10th” and that Gaming INTEL themselves are currently interacting with their other sources–about the Nintendo Direct’s specific date.

Though the rumor doesn’t go over the specific titles that will be shown off in the Nintendo Direct, GamingIntel.com states there’s a possibility that known and unknown Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch titles could be revealed or showcased in this direct.

For Gaming Intel’s predictions, they claim consumers could see the following Nintendo Switch titles. These include: “Yoshi’s Crafted World, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Animal Crossing, [and] Pokemon 2019 (which should be taken with a pinch of salt since Game Freak are known for revealing their games themselves)”.

As for myself, I believe these Nintendo Switch games named above alongside Fire Emblem: Three Houses and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe could be shown off. As for bold Nintendo Switch game reveals, I could see Nintendo Switch ports for Super Mario 3D World and Wonderful 101 being revealed alongside a surprising third party title that no one would expect. An out-of-nowhere prediction could be that Nintendo reveals the second character apart of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Fighter Pass, but that’s hopeful thinking on my part.

For the Nintendo 3DS, we could receive more reveals similar to Luigi’s Mansion for the Nintendo GameCube being ported over to the Nintendo 3DS. Titles like that could help Nintendo sell more 3DS units, maybe. Otherwise, I believe the Nintendo 3DS’s era is coming to a close and won’t receive much spotlight because Nintendo wants to sell more Nintendo Switch consoles.

Yet, like any rumor, fans should take this news with a pinch of salt. Nothing is confirmed until the big “N” share news about the Nintendo Direct on social media or if news gets out when we least expect it. For now, it’s important to “hype responsibly” and keep one’s expectations in check.
