According to Twitter user RSGabe, it appears that brand-new Nintendo Wii U Consoles apart of the 32 GB Black Deluxe Set line are being sold at unreasonable prices. The user’s tweeted image shows that this console, that includes the system’s launch title, Nintendo Land, is being sold for $789 on Amazon.
The snapshots below were taken earlier to pinpoint if the following systems were still priced at the same amount, and miraculously, they are.

The crazy Nintendo Wii U system bundle prices don’t end there as Gamespot.com states,
“the New Super Mario Bros. U + New Super Luigi U bundle is currently going for $879. Even the basic set, which features a white 8 GB console and no pack-ins, is listed for an exorbitant $729.”

Thankfully, there are many ways to purchase this system for a reasonable price at retailers like Gamestop, Walmart, Kmart, etc. Yet, if you’re looking to purchase a used or refurbished Nintendo Wii U console, Gamespot.com claims, you can find systems at 100$ on Ebay or around 140$ on Amazon–if you search hard enough.
Since the dawn of the Nintendo Switch, it seems Nintendo wants to move on from the Nintendo Wii U generation based on the many Nintendo Wii U video games we’ve seen transition to their new handheld and home console hybrid, the Nintendo Switch. These titles include Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, and many others.
Though it had lackluster sales, there were a few titles that were memorable and fun on the system like Pikmin 3, Super Smash Bros. For Wii U, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Wonderful 101, etc. These ridiculous prices for new Wii U systems could reflect the novelty value the console now has since Nintendo doesn’t care for it anymore, but it’d be best for consumers to purchase the system for the price it was selling at initially or to find cheaper options.
Honestly, consumers should focus their attention on their latest hit product, the Nintendo Switch, since there’s a chance for more well-acclaimed Nintendo Wii U software to be ported over to this newer system.
