Nintendo took to twitter yesterday to announce the end of the Nintendo’s Creators Program. In a statement, the company explained, “We are ending the Nintendo Creators Program (NCP) to make it easier for content creators to make and monetize videos that contain Nintendo game content.”

The NCP was created by Nintendo as a way to earn revenue from monetized videos, as well as monitor how Nintendo licenses were used on platforms, such Twitch and Youtube. While Nintendo still has guidelines for using their licences, this makes it much easier for content creators to work. The most important note of the new guidelines is that creators must add input or commentary to their videos.
The Program will come to a close at the end of December, however Nintendo stated they “are no longer accepting videos and channels.” The NCP website will remain online until March 20th, 2019.
