Reggie Denies N64 Classic Rumors

After releasing both the classic editions of the NES and SNES, it seemed likely the next move for Nintendo would be to release a classic N64. Unfortunately for fans of the beloved Nintendo console, President and COO of Nintendo, Reggie Fils-Aime, Shot down the rumor.

When Fils-Aime spoke to Kotaku he said that the two classic edition consoles were “a way for [Nintendo] to bridge from the conclusion of the Wii U as a hardware system to the launch of the Nintendo Switch.” He later added, “I would not ever rule something out, but what I can tell you is that’s not in our planning horizon.”

While it doesn’t seem like fans will be getting a classic console from Nintendo anytime soon, Sony will be releasing the PlayStation Classic on December 3rd.

Were you hoping this rumor would come true? Does this make it more possible for N64 games to make their way onto the switch? Only time will tell.
