So, we all kinda saw this coming when Nintendo started releasing mini-sized retro consoles- a wave of mini-sized retro consoles from all of the major players in the game. Now, the Playstation Classic was revealed before now, but the reason for this article is something we’ve been wondering- “What are the games that are going to come on it when I buy it?”. Good news everyone, they have released that full list, and here it is:
- Battle Arena Toshinden
- Cool Boarders 2
- Destruction Derby
- Final Fantasy VII
- Grand Theft Auto
- Intelligent Qube
- Jumping Flash
- Metal Gear Solid
- Mr Driller
- Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee
- Rayman
- Resident Evil Director’s Cut
- Revelations: Persona
- Ridge Racer Type 4
- Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
- Syphon Filter
- Tekken 3
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six
- Twisted Metal
- Wild Arms
That’s 20 games that come pre-installed on the console when it releases. Now let’s take a quick note about a couple of them. Grand Theft Auto is the top-down one, not like the one’s we’re familiar with since GTA3. Still the same premise, just a different way to play. It’s the same with Rainbow Six– same premise, just a different style of play than we’re used to with RS6: Seige.
You can see them all in video form here:
Overall a nice list of games, but I’m sad that a Tony Hawk game didn’t get on there because that would bring back so much nostalgia from my childhood. I spent hours at a time playing those games in the summer till my mom kicked me off the TV. Ahh memories.
Is there a game that you think should have made the list? Let us know in the comments. (But it’s only a matter of time before someone figures out a way to load more ROMs onto it, so maybe in the future it’ll make it on?)
The Playstation Classic will be released on December 13, 2018 at $99.99 USD.
