Good news everyone! tinyBuild Games has announced 5 new games from PAX West today, some familiar, some new and exciting. Come take a look.
Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek
We all know Hello Neighbor, but if not, here’s a quick summary. It’s about a kid who is trying to get into the house of his neighbor and save his friends who are stuck inside, all while the neighbor is trying to outsmart you and kick you out before you find anything. If this is wrong, I apologise for I have not played the original game. “Well why are you trying to explain it if you haven’t played it?” I know a little bit about it, just not very many details, okay? -ahem- Moving on.
From what I can tell from the new reveal trailer, it looks like there is a group of kids this time, and it looks like the neighbor has had previous encounters with all of them, in one way or another. There are guns, a Raggedy Ann style doll, and various other pieces of equipment usable. Again, I have not played Hello Neighbor, so I don’t know any of this connects to the previous game, but it certainly piques my interest, and it’s one to put on my wishlist along with the original.
Pandemic Express
No, it’s not a game about Panda Express, although that would be an interesting concept, running a restaurant in a game. Oh wait, someone has done that already. Anyways, this game isn’t about that, it’s about zombies and trains. From the reveal trailer, here is the description: “You spawn in a train station with other survivors. One of you turns into a zombie and infects everyone. Get to the train to escape from the infected, or get caught and hunt remaining survivors.” Sounds interesting, and it looks like it has parcour elements in it too, which could be fun if they’re done right.
Swag and Sorcery
That is not a typo, that’s the name of the game. “Really?” Yes, really, but hear me out on this one. From the reveal trailer, it gives me old school Runescape-like RPG vibes. Fight monsters, craft equipment, team up to fight bosses. Also you can make your character look “swag”, hence the name of the game. I mean, look at that hat on the sword, it screams “swag” doesn’t it? It’s touted as a “streamlined RPG” and it looks to hold up to that description. I’ll give it a shot when it comes out.
Hellpoint
This to me looks like what Dark Souls would be like in space, and I love the look of it. It looks like you are an alien created by a powerful god-like being who is on a journey to redeem your kin, after another being walked through an archway into your reality and started slaughtering your kin. I think I got that right. Watch the reveal trailer, it is awesome. Also for a split second it showed split-screen multiplayer, which would be fantastic. We need more couch co-op games, and for a Souls-like game that could be super fun. I’m definitely going to try this one out.
UnDungeon
World literally collide when the fabric of the multiverse collapses, causing seven variations of Earth to collide. The resulting cataclysm changes Earth, causing the outbreak of monsters everywhere. Seven warriors are tasked with defeating the evil that resides over this new Earth, and each time they die, they must restart the entire world over again. But is that all? Watch the reveal trailer, it will enlighten you further.
This one looks like a great time, and a great shift in perspective from the normal “play as the hero” type of game. I’m going to get this one for sure, and possibly even stream it, so stay tuned for that.
That’s all we have for now, but these games look like they’re going to be great so far. tinyBuild always puts out quality products, and these are no exceptions.
