Good news apocalypse fans, Darksiders 3 has a new trailer, and it features a closer look at Fury. “But wait, Fury isn’t one of the Four Horsemen like Death and War.” No, she isn’t (and yes, Fury is a female, a badass one at that), but it’s a video game and they can deviate from the mythology.
For a weapon, Fury uses a whip, as opposed to swords or kamas like War and Death use. What’s special about it is that from the trailer it looks like it starts as a knife or sword, then extends out, essentially becoming a bladed whip. This means she can use it in close quarters or mid-range striking. She even does a spin attack with it where it surrounds her in a circle. This looks like it’s gonna make combat a little different than what we saw in Darksiders and Darksiders 2.
Something not so clear is what that skull she takes does specifically. At the end it looks like it was draining the life essence out of a creature, but nothing else other than that.
The enemies are back in full force, all against Fury. She seems to be working with War and Death, but fighting the battle all alone. For what purpose? That’s unclear at this point, but it’ll be interesting to see what happens.
All in all, this looks like a good way to get us interested in the game that is to come. I’ve played both Darksiders and I had a great time with them. When this one gets a release date I may play them both again on our Twitch channel, stay tuned for that.
