It seems that Rockstar is continuing on their path of making their games bigger and bigger. And map of Red Dead Redemption 2 is a good example of that trend, as it will be bigger even than map of Grand Theft Auto 5. We are getting a lot of news about upcoming features of a prequel to Red Dead Redemption thanks to PlayStation Access. And one of the juiciest bits of information that we’ve got is one about map size.
Big map, big news
And why is that such a big news, you may ask? Well, for one thing, map of GTA 5 is huge. Even if you are using airplanes and cars to traverse, it will take quite a while to move around it. And even more time to explore it in its fullest. The thing is: we don’t have cars and airplanes in Red Dead Redemption, so we are moving around that much slower. That makes you feel like the world is bigger than it really is.
Apparently Rockstar decided to make their newer western game to not only feel bigger but also to be bigger. Which raises a few concerns about amount of content needed to fill such a world. Or, rather, it would’ve raised such concerns if we haven’t seen Rockstar filling GTA 5 with so much content that I still haven’t played through its entirety. And they’ve already addressed those concerns by saying that it will be also their deepest and most realistic game to date.
Ambitions
It is quite an ambitious statement, but, as we’ve seen time and again, Rockstar are not afraid of stating their ambitions. So far, they’ve been able to not only achieve them, but to surpass ours already big expectations. As such, we’ll have to wait and see whether they’ll do so again.
