Persona Q2 comes to Japan this year

New information arises

A new game in the Persona series, called Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth, will be released to Japanese public on November 29, 2018. It is going to be a Nintendo 3DS title, so prepare yourself for its coming, fans of the series! Sadly, there is still no release date for a Western release, so the rest of the world will have to wait. Or you can learn Japanese, that works too.

The source of that information is an official teaser trailer. It also reveals that there will be a huge character cast, including characters from Persona 3, 4 and 5. Even an alternative female protagonist from Persona 3 will have an appearance, despite being available only in PSP version of Persona 3 before.

Additional information will be available at August 5, 8 PM Pacific time on game’s official Twitter account. So we’ll have just to wait a little more to learn about it.

A quick recap

A little historic recap: Persona Q2 was first announced in Japan a year ago. At the time all we had to go on was a little tidbit that there will be a Persona 5 protagonist in there. Not much to go on, right? But we have persevered and at long last, there are news regarding its 3DS release.

The original Persona Q was released in 2014 on 3DS as well. It had featured Persona 3 and 4 casts, as well as original characters, making its story a cross between casts of Persona 3 and 4, forcing them to cooperate to complete the game.  Also, being the only (until Q2) title not on PS, it considerable stepped away from the traditional series’ game design. Overhauling dungeons (into Etrian Odyssey style of dungeons) and battle system (into turn-based ones), they’ve managed to create a unique game style, very different but just as endearing as the rest of the series. So I hope for Q2 to hold up that high mark, as I’m sure, all of you do.

So, let’s stay put and wait for more Persona news!
