Rolling around in a metal ball, Blizzard’s Twitter account revealed that the new hero is a hamster. The Twitter account posted a trailer for the hero this morning. It appears they did some teasing leading up to the creature’s reveal too.

According to Gameinformer, “The hamster is likely Hammond, an escaped test subject from the Horizon Lunar Colony who is also known as Specimen 8.” Based on the reactions from their post–this trailer carries mixed reception among Overwatch fans.
Not much information has been released about the hero or how they will play. Judging from the trailer–we can speculate that Hammond may work like the droids seen in the earlier Star Wars Films–notably the Q-Series Droideka.
We’ll be sure to update you with the latest information on this character if Blizzard shares intel about him.
