Bandai Namco’s latest fighting game, JUMP FORCE, was revealed at Xbox’s E3 2018 briefing event today. It will release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC in 2019–according to the Bandai Namco Entertainment America YouTube channel.
This game will feature Shonen Jump characters from well-known series like Naruto, One Piece, DragonBall Z, and Death Note. A trailer was released to the internet moments after it’s announcement at Xbox’s E3 briefing event. You can watch the trailer here.
In the trailer, Anime and Manga fans will spot some iconic iconography from the respected series above. Some to note would include the Hokage monuments from Naruto, Frieza’s ship from DragonBall Z, and the Thousand Sunny from One Piece. Notably, the characters presented in the trailer include, Naruto Uzumaki, Monkey D. Luffy, Son Goku, Frieza, Ryuk, and Light Yagami.
The biggest change from this title compared to J-Stars Victory Vs + is that the characters are fighting in realistic environments that are a part of the world we live in today. It seems this will be the case based on the latest Twitter post made by the Bandai Namco Twitter account. This is what they said on the matter.
“Universes collide as legendary manga heroes and villains are transported to our reality. Massive battles fill epic locales as good and evil clashes, while humankind hangs in the balance. Look for more details on JUMP FORCE soon and UNITE TO FIGHT in 2019!”

The last game these characters collided in was J-Stars Victory Vs + and had a huge roster of Shonen Jump characters to choose from. However, Light Yagami was not playable in that game as many believe he is more suited to battling with his head. Does this mean more Shonen Jump characters who fight their enemies without fists will be playable characters? We’ll have to wait and find out? #BringYugiMotoInJumpForce
Update: It appears the Bandai Namco Twitter account is teasing fans with a playable demo at E3 2018? Though no information has dropped whether this is the company teasing fans or not, it’s likely that the game could be playable at Xbox’s E3 booth.
We’ll be sure to update you with more information on the game as it comes out. I’m looking forward to playing this game once it releases.
