The Pokemon Company confirmed that the core Pokemon RPG announced during Nintendo’s E3 2017 Spotlight “is in development for the second half of 2019.” This came alongside the announcement for Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee and Pokemon Quest.
The Nintendo Switch Pokemon game was teased by The Pokemon Company president and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara, who said that the game may not release for over a year. He also said that series developer, Game Freak, is in charge of the game. No other details were given during or after the conference besides the post on their Twitter account that it’s a “New title coming in 2019.”
Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee – which many believed were the “core” RPG Pokemon titles he spoke of–turned out to be different games entirely. But a word of advice–fasten your seat belts because I’m certain more leaks are upon us. Those will likely concern the 2019 Pokemon game title(s). Nevertheless, it’s great to know that hardcore Pokemon fans won’t have to worry about these games stealing what they loved most about the franchise. Patience is key.
