Beware, beware, the cyberpunk comes!
VA-11 HALL-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action, a game developed by Sukeban Games on PC in 2016 and for PS Vita in 2017,finally brings that much needed bartender action along with its waifus to the PS4 and Nintendo Switch. As of now there is no date besides that it will be out in Q1 of the next year. And while we wait, let’s recap what we know about the game itself and its developers.
Sukeban Games is a relatively new studio and VA-11 HALL-A is their first released game. It is their only game as of now, too, though they’ve expressed their desire to continue working and establishing their own world. So I think that it is safe to assume that they’ll deliver to us even more quality games in the near future.
What’s in the game?
VA-11 HALL-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action is exactly that, a game where you take on a role of a bartender in a dystopian cyberpunk world. You work your shifts, mixing drinks for a cast of really interesting and various characters, of both waifu and husbando quality. It is a fairly simple game with excellent artwork, engaging story and simply outstanding soundtrack that you can change before each shift. VA-11 HALL-A has a visual novel-esque style of gameplay with a little minigame thrown into mix. You just work your shifts, mixing drinks for your clients and listening to their stories, simple as that. And for such a simple game it has quite a few variations for different choices you can make. For example, if you buy a simple beverage before one of your shifts that will really help you later on. Though there are no indications that you should do so beforehand, so it pushes you to play it again, and you are willing to do so. And it is just the tip of the iceberg.
As it was quite a big success for a small-time studio, it is not surprising that developers decided to branch out to other platforms, so we wish them good luck. And we are waiting for their next game, too!
