Outlast Comes to Switch

In a surprise (un)announcement by Nintendo, Red Barrel’s original game and investment in the underwear stock market: Outlast, and its prequel, The Whistleblower are now available for purchase on the Switch console in the Bundle of Terror.

There has been talk around the industry of bringing the games to the Switch console for some time. With Nintendo being the more family friendly folk in the gaming industry, they played with the possibility of launching the games, but that was about all that was talked about publicly, the rest being left to fate and luck behind the scenes.

Avid fans of the series may have preempted the release based on a post by the Red Barrel team on their Facebook page.  At the very bottom of the photo description was the caption: “In the meantime, the Outlast franchise will be released on the Nintendo Switch during the first quarter of 2018. Cheers!”

Cheers back at ya Red Barrel!  Coming from a person who has played both Outlast and it’s accompanying DLC, I think it’s only right to share the truly terrifying game with as many people as possible.  I’m excited for this release and I don’t even own a Switch (yet…).

Furthermore, you can also pre-order last years hit: Outlast 2 on Nintendo’s eShop; although a release date has yet to be announced.  This can only mean that we will be seeing all future releases of Outlast and it’s DLC on the Switch, and with Outlast 3 rumors starting to swirl, Switch owners have some more hardcore survival horror to look forward to.

You can purchase and pre-order the games for download here.

Also, you may want to invest in some of these…
